 Hello, my name is
Kelly Short and I will be your guide when you book a trip with Kelly
Short Outdoors. I am a native Oregonian, and I have been fishing popular
Northwest rivers since the age of three. Once I turned 16 and began
driving. It became very difficult to find me as I started testing my
skills on every river and water way I could find in the state of Oregon.
I began testing my skills and learning the inns and outs of steelhead
and salmon fishing and at the age of 22 I passed my Oregon guide license
exams and started guiding valley and coastal rivers in my drift boat. At
the age of 23 I bought my first jet sled and was very honored to have
been chosen to be a member of the National Budweiser Fishing Team as
their Northwest Salmon and Steelhead guide and consultant. During the
next four years I conducted fishing and hunting seminars all over
Oregon, Washington and Idaho at Grand Openings of the Wal-Mart stores.
Soon after that time I was selected by the great people at the
Miller Brewing Co. to be on board their winning team in the Northwest,
and I became their representative fishing guide for the next eight
years. During this period I had the pleasure of being sponsored with the
Genuine Draft brand, Red Dog, and for the last six years the Miller Lite
brand.
I have been featured on popular national television shows. I've been
chosen as a fishing guide to be on the American outdoors Journal TV
show, ESPN and the HawgQwest. I've also been featured in popular
Northwest outdoor magazines like the Salmon Trout Steelhead, Fishing and
Hunting News, Oregon / Washington Fish And Game, and The Fish Sniffer.
Most recently, after being sponsored by Mercury Marine and on the pro
staff for over 18 years, I am now hosting the Mercury Pro team boat in
the Northwest.
I take my job as a full-time fishing guide very seriously and my
goal is to ensure every one of my customers the best possible fishing
trip, a new friendship and memories that will last a lifetime.
